Mike Stoller - Composer - Elvis Presley and many others - March 1996

Mike Stoller and Jerry Leiber were amongst the most inventive and successful Rhythm-and-Blues and Rock-and-Roll songwriters and producers during the 50's and early 60's. They co-wrote many classics like 'Jailhouse Rock', 'Hound Dog', 'Poison Ivy', 'Love Portion Number 9' and 'Kansas City'.

The second photograph shows Mike (left) and Jerry (right) with Elvis (middle).

Mike talked about Elvis, The Beatles, many other superstars and about their then latest musical stage show (that also played in Melbourne), 'Smokey Joe's Cafe', which is entirely about the music of Leiber and Stoller.
